The Big Lottery & New Digital Community Partnerships
Donnington House Care Home was pleased to announce that in December 2019 they were successful in securing funding from ‘The Big Lottery Improving Lives’ to create a mobile sensory environment at the home.
In 2020 they will introduce fiber optics, mobile projectors, & interactive lightboxes in order to stimulate, comfort and reduce anxiety & fear in rooms where residents are unable to leave.
They also aim to increase empowerment, interaction, enjoyment, inclusion & meaningful occupation.
Early 2020 will also see an exciting collaboration & partnership with The Digital Line, Samsung & Amazon as we begin research towards the ‘C.R.E.A.T.I.V.E’ Communicating Real-time Efficient Activities Transforming Innovative Valued Engagement’ project.
This will enable resident’s access to new advanced equipment & our inclusion in highlighting the positive impact of creative technology in care homes. Our aim is to encourage play, social connections, & well-being with the aim of reducing isolation.
This includes audiobooks, augmented, interactive, & virtual reality technology.
Looking Glass Media are pleased to be involved with ‘The Digital Hub’ project associated with Donnington House.
